Uganda’s Mining Industry Records Major Milestones in 2024

Uganda’s mining sector has achieved a year of significant progress, with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development reporting increased investments and infrastructural expansion. With UGX 41.55 billion allocated for projects like new exploration roads in Karamoja and mineral mapping, the government has laid groundwork for more sustainable and profitable mining operations. According to Watchdog Uganda, policy reforms introduced this year aim to enhance sector transparency and better regulate artisanal mining. These changes are expected to attract more foreign direct investment and create local job opportunities.
